Our 1st Birthday Celebration! What a wonderful day....
We cannot believe that it is a year since we took in our first group of children, and what a year it has been.............
We have seen the opening of the Field of Dreams complex, part of the Extended School, by Lord Puttnam and visitors from the Department fo Education. We have had many visitors to look at the setting as an example of an Early Years setting and all have been very impressed by the building and more importantly, the warmth of the welcome they receive from the staff team.
We have had tremendous support from our parents and friends. We are also very grateful for the continued support we get from Kensington Regeneration, Community 7 and the LEA.
Field of Dreams Nursery celebrated its First Birthday in style. Parents, Staff and children joined the fun and dressed in fancy dress. After the children enjoyed their party food there was a fancy dress parade, followed by the release of a colourful array of balloons.
Elizabeth Connor-Scahill, Nursery Manager commented, “It has been a wonderful day and a fitting celebration for the end of our first year. The parents have been very supportive by making donations and selling raffle tickets and making such an effort to dress the children in their beautiful costumes. The aim of our Nursery is to be at the heart of the community and we will continue to work hard to ensure that we provide a high quality childcare provision for all of our children.”
Kensington Regeneration made a generous contribution to the day and a raffle raised enough money to buy new equipment for the Nursery.

The Nursery is part of a larger education and sports complex which was officially opened by Lord Puttnam of Queensgate and blessed by Fr Pat Kelly.
Children from the school performed songs and dances. Children from the school, helped by some children from the Nursery, released over 300 balloons to celebrate the event.
This was a memorable Day and the culmination of many years planning and fundraising. It is a wonderful asset for the local community. |
14th April 2004 - First Nursery Open Day
 |
This was a special day. It was the first opportunity that we had to open the Nursery to the Community. We wanted to show people the accommodation we offered and it was a chance for them to meet the staff and other parents.
For those who were contemplating childcare facilities we had the support of the Job Bank ,who were offering advice about funding childcare for those who were wanting to return to work. |

Many people took advantageof the day to register their child for a place in Nursery.
While this was all happening, the children who accompanied their parents were entertained by a professional entertainer, there was face painting and oppoertunities to meet with the staff who had activities set up for them to use. not to mention the balloons, biscuits and juicethat was available!
It was a very successful occasion. |
